In 2017, Travelbird compiled a list of the 100 friendliest cities in the world, after analyzing the top 500 global tourist destinations, paying special attention to factors that make tourists feel welcome.

- la joie de vivre des habitants (the happiness of its citizens)
- qualité d'accueil chez l'habitant (their openness to hosting tourists in their homes)
- capacité à parler anglais (English language proficiency)
- le nombre de touristes par habitant (the amount of over-tourism each locale has to contend with during the year)
Le tout a été compilé avec l'avis de 15000 journalistes de voyages d'après leur propre expérience.
