Après "Hippocrate" (2014) et "Médecin de campagne" (2016), Thomas Lilti (ancien médecin généraliste) sort son troisième film "Première Année" toujours sur le thème du milieu médical.

The third movie "Première Année" by Thomas Lilti (former general practitioner) has just been released after "Hippocrate" (2014)" and "Médecin de campagne" (2016), again on a medical topic.

Ce film raconte le parcours difficile de deux étudiants en première année de médecine en France. Il se trouve que ce film sort au même moment où le gouvernement français envisage de réformer le concours de passage entre la première année et la deuxième année de médecine. En effet, en 2017, sur les 60 000 candidats, seulement 8 200 ont été reçus en deuxième année soit à peine 15% des participants. Ce concours est jugé impitoyable et déconnecté de la réalité.

This movie is about the difficult pathway of two students in first year of medicine school in France. It happens to be released at the same moment when French government intends to reform the competition between the first year and second year of medicine. Indeed, in 2017, on 60 000 candidates, only 8 200 were received in the second year, hardly 15 % of the participants. This competition is considered merciless and disconnected from reality.

J'ai beaucoup aimé le premier film de Thomas Lilti, Hippocrate, qui retrace le parcours d'un jeune interne plein de certitudes et d'espoir pour sa future carrière. Seulement la réalité est bien plus difficile que ce qu'il imaginait ! C'est un film qui traite d'un sujet difficile mais avec beaucoup d'humour. (Un Interne est un étudiant en médecine en apprentissage dans le milieu hospitalier avant l'obtention de son diplôme).

I really liked he first movie of Thomas Lilti, Hippocrates, that tells the story of a medical student full of certainties and hopes about his future career. Unfortunately reality is a bit more difficult than he imagined ! This movie is about dealing with a difficult topics but with a lot of humor. (An Internal is an apprenticed medical student in hospital before graduating his diploma).
